transforming the lives of lgbtqi+ muslim people in britain
About
Imaan is the UK's oldest charity for Muslim LGBTQI+ people.
We were founded in 1999 in London, and since then we have supported, campaigned for, and represented Muslim LGBTQI+ people across the UK.Currently, we run regular monthly social events in London at Positive East, online social events, with a variety of speakers and themes. Every Ramadan, we run weekly Iftars, and we hold celebrations for Eid and other festivals. We also run events across the UK—we hold regular events in Manchester, in partnership with the LGBT Foundation there, and we've held events in Birmingham, Cardiff, Sheffield, and more!We provide access to low-cost and free therapy, and host support groups for specific parts of our community, including LGBTQ+ Muslim women and HIV+ people. In 2024, we hosted the UK's first ever Muslim Pride festival, and we're excited to keep growing and supporting our community. Stay tuned with what we're doing and the exciting events we have coming up by following us on our socials below! All events will be shared on our Instagram and on the members' WhatsApp groups.
